The Collard Ranch consists of approximately 800 lush acres with 360-degree views and approximately 2.5 miles of the Upper Tarryall Creek fishery. The fishery is part of the South Platte River headwaters. Being near the origin of this drainage, the water in Tarryall Creek is clean and cold which supports an incredibly healthy riparian corridor. The diversity and volume of aquatic insects in the fishery is astounding and it greatly benefits the trout that enjoy the creek. Because the riparian corridor is so healthy, a variety of other wild game enjoy this well-watered sanctuary. Elk, Pronghorn Antelope, Mule Deer, Bear and birds of prey enjoy the benefit of the ranch year-round. The signature of the ranch setting it apart from almost any other offering is its thirty to fifty foot bluffs which stand guard on either side of the creek offering privacy and serenity to the creek bottom. As you move off the bluffs down into the riparian corridor you are in a world of your own. The bottom offers 360-degree views of Lost Park National Wilderness on the east, the Kenosha Mountains on the north and then a string of icons lying within the Mosquito Mountain range including Mt. Boreas, the ever-prominent Mt. Silverheels at 13,823 feet and one of Colorado’s 58 famous “14ers”, Mount Sherman at 14,042 feet. The views from within South Park Colorado are nearly unmatched in the state and The Frank Collard Ranch takes advantage of a majority of them. Fly fishing on this kind of creek against the ranch’s backdrop offers anglers an iconic Colorado experience. The fishery can be expanded by over 3 miles and 1,600+/- acres by adding the neighboring ranch- the Upper Tarryall Creek Ranch which is also offered.
